food self-reliance in jamaica
My dissertation, available here, is a mixed-methods study of Jamaica’s domestic food system. I analyze how global economic and political processes impact growing, selling and eating Jamaican food. The study is funded by a Doctoral Award from the International Development Research Centre and a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
hungry cities partnership
I studied in collaboration with the Hungry Cities Partnership, an international research program on urban food security across low- and middle- income countries.

I coordinated WatFIG, a community of students, researchers, and faculty at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University studying food.
